Myerscough College’s Short Course Unit recently provided Fylde Executive Cars Ltd with training in the Arabic language and culture. The training came about after Fylde Executive Cars picked up on the short course, An Introduction to Arabic Language and Culture, when the College were delivering it at Hodgson School, Poulton Le Fylde. They then approached Myerscough with a view to adapting the training to engage their needs in terms of providing more practical information to their employees in order to carry out their duties as chauffeurs for Saudi Nationals working in the North West. The course aimed to help FEC employee’s converse and understand the language at a basic level, form a base from which they could improve their vocabulary, understand the Arabic culture as well as read basic Arabic by themselves. Up to 24 members of staff took part in the training, which consisted of eight two hour sessions between March and July this year. Fylde Executive Cars Ltd MD, John Coombes, said: “We are very happy with the training provided by Myerscough College. With our growing client base of visitors from the Gulf States It has become extremely important for our chauffeurs to have a basic understanding of the Arabic language and culture and, by completing this course, they now have this.” Myerscough College’s Short Course Unit Manager, Colin Todhunter, added: “We are very pleased that we have been able to assist Fylde Executive Cars Ltd with their training.
