Fylde Executive Cars Ltd – Carbon Neutral chauffeur service Commitment to Tree planting will start in Burnley
‘From small Acorns great oak trees grow’ and this adage applies in more ways than one to Lancashire’s largest corporate chauffeur company Lytham St Annes based Fylde Executive Cars Ltd.
The family business was founded in 1989 by John Coombes senior with just two vehicles. His son John Junior joined the family business in 1996 and since then the fleet has grown to over 30 Mercedes and Volvo vehicles offering a range of services which includes airport transfers, sight-seeing tours, weddings and specialist vehicles for almost every occasion.
As part of the companies expansion, it was keen to develop its own Environmental Policies to reduce the impact of it’s operations on the Local and Global environments. Working with the Carbon Footprint Ltd, Fylde Executive Cars has become one of the first company’s in the North to deliver a real carbon neutral operation for its clients.
Managing Director John Coombes jnr said. “We were very aware of the high priority that North West business was giving to meeting it’s carbon reduction targets and felt compelled not only to match that effort, but to also offer the business traveller in the North West a genuine Carbon Neutral executive chauffeur service”.
At the point of booking the client can request a carbon neutral service, upon which the client pays just 40 pence on the price of their journey which is then invested in the purchase and planting of tree schemes across Lancashire. Chairman John Coombes Snr added “We are delighted that the first batch of 100 trees have now been allocated for planting at Briercliffe Primary School, Burnley in November and we hope this will encourage more Public and Private land owners to get in touch with Carbon Footprint Ltd, if they have available land where the next batch of 100 trees could be planted”
The planting scheme aims to target open spaces across Lancashire where up to 100 broad leaved native species can be planted during the winter months at no charge to the land owner.
